If the general contractor is responsible for the outcome, why do dozens of separate companies actually build it?

Concourse forms joint ventures and dedicated entities that self-perform key trades directly, concrete, for one, instead of hiring it out. Each entity is built to execute a single scope end to end, under Concourse's ownership, not as a subcontract with someone else's business.

That's the difference in practice: no separate company setting its own price, schedule, or priorities for that trade.
